Street Art 101
World's First
My passion for public art stems from my desire to inspire others to unleash their creative potential. This drive led me to develop the 'Street Art 101' course at the Maryland Institute College of Art, which, to my knowledge, was the first-ever accredited program dedicated to the study of street art.
Course Overview
The curriculum was designed to be comprehensive and inclusive, covering a range of subjects including art history, advanced painting techniques, and large-scale production methods.
Through this course, I aimed to impart key principles of art such as color theory, composition, and other foundational elements, essential for advanced artistic development. The hands-on approach of the course inspired a diverse group of students to create and showcase their interior and exterior mural designs in public exhibitions.
I also collaborated with local organizations to provide students with opportunities to put their newly acquired skills into practice and produce works of art that could be displayed in public spaces. All in all, my passion for public art continues to fuel my drive to inspire and educate the next generation of artists.
